SEPTEMBER 14, 2026

 

Back after a much-needed week off and plenty has happened since the end of August. Of course, we’ve just passed the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. So many people suffered a huge loss that day—my close friend Jane Simpkin was on the second plane—and this country has suffered a great deal since that day. Endless wars, continued hatred directed at Muslims and, in fact, anyone with brown skin, especially right after the attacks. And I don’t see any end in sight.

 

And over this past weekend, I suffered another devastating loss—my friend and bandmate Ian King died suddenly from a heart attack. He was only 56 years old. One of the best people I’ve ever known and I was extrememly fortunate to have him as a friend for so many years. I’m not going to type anymore because I might start crying. I was able to hold it together for the show at least.
